Seven Minute Open Chakra Flow

The seven chakras are the centers in our bodies in which energy flows through. Blocked energy in our seven chakras can often lead to illness, so it's important to understand what each chakra represents and what we can do to keep this energy flowing freely. The image above is a good representation of the name, location, color and function of each chakra. To keep the energy flowing, hold each of these poses for One Minute:

Opening the first Chakra, the Root Chakra located at the base of your spine.  Lie on your mat, place your feet in the air, connect the soles of your feet, lower your heals down, let the knees fall out to the sides.

Second Chakra, the Sacral Chakra, located just below the belly button.  Place the soles of your feet flat on the mat, hip distance apart, raise your hips up, shoulders on the mat, chin tucked.

Third Chakra, the Solar Plexus, located just above the belly button. Supine Twist, lay flat on the mat, bring both knees to your chest, let the left leg rest on the mat while your right hand guides your right knee across your body with the left arm extended out and your left ear on the mat gazing out toward your left hand, hold for 30 seconds then repeat on the other side. Right leg resting, left knee across the body, right arm extended out and right ear on the mat.

Fourth Chakra, the Heart Chakra, Cobra, laying down on your belly, place both hands flat on the mat next to your shoulder, raise your upper body up using your extended arms, neck back, and let the heart shine.

Fifth Chakra, the Throat Chakra, downward facing dog, palms and feet flat on the mat, hips up in the air, let your neck relax down away from the shoulders, let the throat open, deep inhale and open mouth exhale.

Sixth Chakra, the Third Eye, Childs pose, knees wide to the sides of the mat, bend forward resting your forehead on the mat, massaging your third eye, arms extended in front of you.

Seventh Chakra, the Crown Chakra, sit up legs crossed, both hands on the top of your head, one palm facing down the other facing up, elbows out, spine straight.

One big inhale hold at the top and realease with open mouth.

Smile!
